Manchester United and Spanish giants Real Madrid could involve in another feisty transfer duel next summer, if views of La Liga expert Guillem Balague are to be taken seriously.
In his column for Spanish newspaper AS, Balague notes that to make a high profile transfer into reality, like in case of Ronaldo (first to Manchester United and then to Madrid), a lot of work goes on behind the scene. Fair enough.
A similar of sort of tension is developing at the moment with Ronaldo. According to reports, French champions PSG are keen to sign the Portuguese winger, and the Parisiens have even submitted a formal bid. However, Balague feels apart from PSG, Ronaldo has several options for consideration and returning to Manchester United is certainly one of them.
Cristiano Ronaldo: Has now scored 19 goals in his last 10 appearances for Real Madrid #UCL

The Portuguese was enjoying great success at United, but he felt moving to Real Madrid was necessary for his development, but ever since he left Old Trafford, he has always dreamt of returning to his old club. He has good memories at the club and holds a special bonding with the fans. But at the same time, he wants a new challenge in his life, probably a new country, a new league to explore, and therefore moving back to United is seemingly out of the equation.

Ronaldo, 30, has three years remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu, but no one expects him to retire at the club. In fact, Madrid won’t mind selling him now, if any potential suitor comes up with a huge money offer, may be in the region of €150m.
There is a growing feeling in the club that Ronaldo’s influence in the team has waned, although he remains a terrific goal scorer (needs just one goal to become first player to cross 500 goals). Manchester City have the financial muscle to lure Ronaldo away Bernabeu, but given his bonding his Manchester United, it’s hard to think he would join their rivals.
Ronaldo is going through an interesting phase in his career, where he is still good enough to score over 40-45 goals easily in a season, but unlike Messi, he is not the same player anymore, who can win you matches by the scruff of the neck.
Manchester United have the funds to bring him back at Old Trafford but will it be a good move? Probably not. Have your say below.
