Juventus midfielder and a long term Manchester United target Arturo Vidal has played down speculation that he could leave the club in January or in foreseeable future.

Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for the Chilean midfield maestro in the summer, and in many quarters, it is believed that his long-standing knee problems prevented the Red Devils from making any big investment on him.

Vidal, after a slow start to the season, is now re-discovering his old form that has resulted in wild speculation that he could be heading to the Premier League in January.

“I’m happy at Juventus because I feel at home here,” he told Radio Cooperativa via ESPN. “I’ve grown a great deal since I arrived at Juve.”

The Chilean midfielder has had a difficult start to the season, but he explains his earlier set-backs was purely down to an operation on his knee from May.

“It was all under control,” the 27-year-old said. “We knew that I would have continued to have complaints for two or three months after the operation — the surgeon who operated on me told me this. I started a little later this year because of a few problems with my knee, but now I’m back.

“Now the good part is starting — the difficult games, in the Champions League. We hope to be up to the challenge.”

Quite understandable why Vidal has affirmed his commitment to the Bianconeri once again. The Italian champions are favourites again to life their fourth straight titles and looking to make a strong impact in the Champions League as well, by booking a berth in the last 16 when they face Atletico Madrid next week.

Manchester United fans probably doesn’t expect the arrival of Vidal either. United seem have to shifted their attention elsewhere, with Roma’s highly-rated midfielder Kevin Strootman being a possible target.
