Eddie Nketiah wants to leave Arsenal in search of regular football action, according to reports.

The 22-year-old’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to expire in the summer and he is yet to agree a new deal with the Gunners.

He is currently struggling for game time in London, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and even Gabriel Martinelli ahead of him in the pecking order.

The talented striker has only made two EFL Cup appearances this season, with two goals to his name.

According to the Mail, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta made a last-ditch effort to keep the 22-year-old at the Emirates Stadium beyond the end of this season.

However, the English footballer has told his employers that he wants to leave the Premier League club.

Eddie Nketiah started his career by joining the youth academy of Chelsea before switching to Arsenal in 2015.

He progressed through the youth ranks and earned his senior debut for the Gunners in September 2017 against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.

So far, the Lewisham-born footballer has clocked up 67 appearances across all competitions for the London side, scoring 15 goals and creating an assist in the process.

Nketiah is a highly talented player who is known for his pace, movement and finishing ability.

His first-team opportunities at the Emirates Stadium don’t look great at the moment and it is understandable that he wants to leave.
