Ever since Jamie Vardy turned Arsenal down, the Gunners have been linked with several strikers.
The latest name linked with a move to Emirates is the French international Alexandre Lacazette.
Telegraph are reporting that Wenger is ready to pay his 34 million pounds release clause this summer. The North London giants are in desperate need of a reliable goal scorer if they want to challenge for the Premier League and have identified the Lyon star as an ideal addition.
Lacazette has been one of the best young forwards in Europe over the last 3 seasons now and will be a terrific addition to Arsenal if they can pull it off.
The player has already turned down moves to West Ham United earlier, but it is likely that he will accept a move to Arsenal.
The likes of PSG are also interested in him, but Telegraph add that Wenger met with the player’s representatives in France during the Euros. Wenger is working as a TV pundit in France right now.
Lacazette has scored 76 goals for Lyon in his last 138 appearances for them. The 25 year old bagged 23 goals for them last season.
In other news, Arsenal are willing to fight Chelsea for the signature of Alvaro Morata.
The Real Madrid striker only recently completed his return to Bernabeu, but Los Blancos only signed him to sell him for a profit.
The likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are looking to sign him this summer, but only if Real Madrid lower their asking price of £57m.
Despite Arsenal’s links with Lacazette, Evening Standard claim that Morata is Wenger’s first choice and he will make a move if a deal can be done for a reasonable price.
Conte is keen on the Spaniard as well and given the fact that he convinced Morata to join Juventus, he might have a slight edge in the battle against Arsenal.
