Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League giants Arsenal this summer. The Gunners have reportedly held talks with the player’s agent last month and were ready to offer £42m for his services while according to reports in Algerian media, Mahrez has even agreed to a personal deal to move to the Emirates.
Claudio Ranieri has made it clear that he doesn’t want to sell Mahrez this summer but the Algerian could still be persuaded to move away from King Power Stadium.
Mahrez was spotted on Monday at the luxurious Chelsea Harbour Hotel which is a stone throw distance away from Stamford Bridge and where Chelsea players usually rest up before their home games.
According to aspiring sports journalist @AlessandroLdn, he paid a visit to Chelsea Harbour to meet with Antonio Conte. Here’s a proof of that meeting:

There’s a bit of twist in the tale. Just when he was about to be leaving he saw Mahrez checking in with his agent. Here’s the picture proof:

Up until now, it was all perfect (picture proof and all that) but then we enter the ITK territory, as Mahrez’s agent has allegedly told the young aspiring journo that Chelsea want to sign his client.

Chelsea making a move for Mahrez would make little sense. In order to accommodate him in the side, Conte will have to sell the likes of Cuadrado, Moses and Pedro. And even then, he is still not guaranteed for regular starting places at the Bridge, however, Mahrez would definitely be an upgrade over some of Chelsea’s regular starters.
