Arsenal’s coach, Arsene Wenger, announced officially that Cesc Fabregas will remain as the captain of the Gunners this upcoming season, and with this final decision, the speculation that has been made in recent months regarding the possible transfer of midfielder to Barcelona came to an end.
And if you’re a fan of sports betting, you should consider that Fabregas scored 15 goals last season for Arsenal and also had an outstanding performance with the Spanish national team in South Africa 2010.
Arsenal declined a formal offer made by Barcelona last month and their coach, Wenger, is still strong in his decision to keep the 23 year-old midfielder.
However, during the past few weeks, the option of a formal request made by the player emerged, in which he informed of his interest to be part of Pep Guardiola’s team.
This means that there is a last chance for Fabregas, if he really wants to join FC Barcelona.
But things did not end there. Fabregas spoke in a recent interview of the great regard that he has for Arsene, which is also considered as part of his family.
He also said that the last conversation he had with the Arsenal’s coach in London was one of the most difficult moments he has went through. So, we could think that he will not make the request.
But in case that he does it, Barça will not hesitate to return to negotiate for Fabregas, as long as the requested amount is within the budget of the Spanish club.
For its part, the Catalans did not give up in their attempts to hire Cesc, but they know that by now there’s nothing else they can do.
However, Barcelona is positive regarding that there is still time, considering that the end of the transfer market is until next August 31st.
