Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has been linked with a move to Juventus all summer.
Apparently, the player was unsettled at Stamford Bridge and was eyeing a move away from the London club. However, there is some good news for the Blues as it appears that Antonio Conte has finally persuaded the Serbian to stay at the club.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that the player will stay at Chelsea after a decisive meeting with Antonio Conte and other Chelsea officials.
Juventus wanted to sign the Chelsea star as a replacement for Paul Pogba. The French midfielder completed a world record move to Manchester United earlier this week.
Matic had a poor season with Chelsea last year and there were rumours that the player is frustrated and wants a change of scenery. Now the speculations regarding his future can finally be put to bed.
The former Benfica star was a key player during Chelsea’s title-winning season under Mourinho and Conte will be hoping for a similar impact from the player this season as well.
Earlier this summer Matic was linked with a move to Manchester United. Reports claimed that the player asked for a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
