Anthony Nolan cancer charity are organizing a campaign called #MarchOfTheMen later this month which encourages men aged 16-30 to register and help save people’s lives.
Anthony Nolan is a UK charity that works in the areas of leukaemia and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It manages and recruits donors for patients in need.
Four years ago, it helped Liverpool player Brad Jones secure a bone marrow transplant, but his son Luca passed away. Brad Jones has supported Anthony Nolan since 2010.
According to surveys, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer every 20 minutes and for these patients, Anthony Nolan register is their last chance of survival. It is the only way for them to secure a stem cell transplant from a donor on the Anthony Nolan register.
However, there are not enough men willing to sign up to the donor register and, therefore, Anthony Nolan have planned an awareness campaign which will encourage young men to join the cause and spread the message by saving lives.
