Patrice Evra is expected to play his last game for Manchester United today and will join Inter Milan, according to The Telegraph.
Evra is out of contract in the summer and he is likely to join Nemanja Vidic as Inter Milan are ready to offer him a deal. United have the option to re-sign him, after the left back made enough appearances to trigger a new contract, but the French international has decided to leave.
Back in March, Evra’s agent Federico Pastorello revealed Serie A might be a possibility, but Evra has not made a final decision.
Pastorello told Italian radio station ‘TeleRadioStereo’ (relayed by the Daily Mirror):
“Inter and Roma? Speaking with him, I have understood that technically Serie A is a possibility. He is very attached to Manchester United even if recently things have changed a bit. But Evra still has not taken a final decision.”
If reports are to be believed, Evra has finally made a decision and is set to replaced by Southampton left back Luke Shaw. United are ready to make a £27 million for the 18-year-old left back. Southampton recently denied reports of any incoming bids for Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana, but a move to Old Trafford is very likely for Shaw, with Lallana being Anfield bound. United could face a bidding war from Chelsea and Liverpool.
Recently, Shaw played down links of him joining Manchester United or Chelsea insisting he wants to stay focused on his game.
Luke Shaw:“There is not a club I am not linked with, but I don’t focus on that.
“My main focus is my football on the pitch and I just want to keep doing that.
“It doesn’t really bother me the attention I get. I just stay focused on my game on the pitch. Whatever is said is said.
“Stuff like that is going to happen but my main priority is the games. We’ve still got six left, so all the focus is on that.”
The England team for the World Cup is set to be announced tomorrow and Shaw has an outside chance to book a place on the plane to Brazil this summer.
