Manchester United’s record summer signing Angel di Maria has suffered a pelvic injury during training as reported by Daily Mail, via B/R.
Di Maria, who reportedly earns £280,000-a-week, played the full 90 minutes against Preston on Monday night in United’s 3-1 win in the FA Cup, in the process, booking a date with Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
Kieran Gills reports that the extent of the damage is unknown but United are hoping that it is not a recurrence of his previous pelvic injury which forced him playing just a single match in December.
Di Maria has scored four goals this season and managed seven assists to his name, but his campaign has been disrupted by hamstring and pelvis injuries early on.
The star studded United squad, however, has managed to continue getting the positive results without him, and Van Gaal will be hoping the same should Di Maria miss out few games through injury.
United’s season has been ravaged by injuries with 24 different players being injured this campaign. Van Gaal will have to find a way to deal with the absence of Di Maria, but let’s hope the injury is not serious at the moment.
