LINGFIELD RACECARD No.1s
Buying RACECARD No.1s with Spreadex could be the way to go at Lingfield’s jumps fixture this afternoon. IMPHAL, on a four-timer, holds obvious claims in the opening conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle (12.15) despite being ridden by a very inexperienced pilot, LILITH returned to form with a runner-up effort over an inadequate 2m4f last time, her second run back following wind surgery, and returns to a more suitable trip in the 12.45, CELESTIAL FORCE is long odds-on in the 1.15, CROSSING THE BAR, ex-Sir Michael Stoute-trained, looks fascinating on his hurdles debut in the 1.45, BLAME THE GAME was probably in need of his comeback run when pulled up here late mast month and won second time out last term, David Pipe’s runners are profitable to back blind on their second start following a wind operation and DOYEN LA LUTTE qualifies in the 2.47 and GO AS YOU PLEASE, runner-up in first-time cheekpieces last season, could bounce back to form in first-time blinkers in the finale (3.17). At the time of writing the market was set at 51-54.

TAUNTON 3.25
SERVEONTIME is a huge price but the veteran is taken to outrun his odds in this 2m3f handicap hurdle. He ran well for a long way when a 14-1 seventh of 11 here in April, his first start after a mammoth absence of 861 days, before placing at 33-1 next time. He’s a 20-race maiden but has run several good races here at Taunton – his four best RPRs (Racing Post Ratings) have come at this track – and he’s beaten 65% of his rivals across his seven course outings. It’s interesting that connections have persevered with him and, while he’s running here on the back of another break (156 days), a placed effort is far from impossible. He can be bought at 2 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 race market or backed each-way in the fixed odds betting at 50-1.
Recommendation: Back SERVEONTIME in Taunton 3.25
CHELMSFORD 7.20
ARTEMIS SKY heads the betting at 15-8 with Spreadex for this extended 1m5f handicap but is an eight-race maiden and now wears first-time cheekpieces. Hollie Doyle takes the ride, but she hasn’t got the greatest record in small-field tactical affair at Chelmsford. She’s only won on seven of her 79 mounts in fields of seven or fewer runners at this venue (expected winners = 12.89) for a loss of £44.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. Marcus Tregoning’s filly looks far from straightforward, failing to settle when narrowly beaten here last time and getting up set in the stalls when beaten miles at Kempton the time before. She can be sold at 22 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with KINDERFRAU, well found in the overnight betting, or back THE FIELD at 10-11 in the ‘FAV OR RAG’ market.
