An Everton return for Los Angeles Galaxy star Landon Donovan looks unlikely to happen, according to Everton manager David Moyes.
The American attacker enjoyed a successful two-month loan spell at Everton last season, and a few days ago, Donovan stated that he’d be interested in a return to Goodison Park. He said, “I would love to go back to Everton. I love the people there and I love the fans there.”
However, with a permanent move being the only option at this point and with an asking price for such a deal perhaps being as high as £11m, the 28-year-old is not in Everton’s budget, despite Moyes’ best efforts.
“Don’t you think I’ve asked my chairman (Bill Kenwright) to make it happen?”
“We’d love to have Landon but he looks too expensive for us and we just don’t have it.
“We don’t have the finances. The price the MLS want for him is very big and it’s an additional problem because of his age.”
