Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has set his goals for the season. The Italian who took over from Antonio Conte in the summer has claimed that he wants to win the Serie A title and reach the quarter finals of the Champions League. The Bianconeri have won the Scudetto for three times in a row but have failed to impress in the Champions League.

Allegri however wants to change the trend.

“What would I consider a good season? The Scudetto and the Champions League knockout stages. I want to establish Juventus firmly in the top eight clubs in Europe. Of course we know we can’t compete financially with the huge behemoths which dominate at the moment, but we’re ready to make good progress.

Allegri also maintained that he is holding his calm after taking over the Old Lady in the summer. However, he believes that Roma’s insistence that they will lift the Serie A title would make second place a failure for the Giallorossi.

Allegri claimed“Roma are strong, and are coming off the back of a great season where they finished second. The fact is that they can’t hide now.

The pressure will be too strong for them, because now another second place wouldn’t be good enough. It would be a big disappointment, a kind of small failure.”

Roma currently have 25 points from 11 games this season and trail Juventus by just 3 points. The Bianconeri were earlier lucky to have beaten Roma by 3-2 at Turin, with referring decisions going their way throughout the 90 minutes. So can the capital club surmount Juventus or will the Bianconeri rule again? Or can we see a new champion in Napoli?
