Chelsea and Liverpool’s hope in signing Wilfried Bony in January transfer window after his agent confirmed that Swansea City striker will join Manchester City this month.
The Ivory Coast international has been constantly linked with a move away from the Welsh club as the Blues were reportedly keen on securing a deal for the African star. In addition to this, the 26-year-old is also on the radar of the Merseyside club, who is valued to be around £30m.
The Premier League champions have lost Sergio Aguero through injury, who was then followed by Edin Dzeko. Lack of firepower at the Etihad has forced City manager Manuel Pellegrini to make a move for Bony.
The Swansea star’s representative Francis Kacou has revealed Bony’s move to City will be completed in next few days.
“It’s about some small details about money but I think things will go all right in a few days,” Kacou told Sky Sports News.
“Talks are going on and we are waiting but I really hope things will happen soon. I will fly with him to Abu Dhabi and let’s see what will happen.”
Meanwhile, Bony has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League and a move to City in the winter transfer window will help him fulfil his ambition of featuring in the Europe’s elite club competition.
“It is going well. The discussion is still on. I am now going to join my national team so I am just focused on that. Every player wants to play Champions League, World Cups. It is the wish of every player,” Bony said, as reported by Talksport.
“When you get the opportunity… sometimes good ones, sometimes not, but I am just taking it step by step. I am focusing on my national team and wait to see the news like you.”
