The agent of has revealed that Liverpool and Real Madrid are the host of the clubs interested in signing Villarreal striker.
The 21-year-old joined the Spanish side from Racing Club last summer and has been in fine form for Marcelino García Toral’s side. The Argentine has scored 18 goals collectively in the La Liga and the Europa League.
Vietto has been the top scorer for the Yellow Submarine and his representative has admitted that a move away from his current employers could be an option in the summer.
“We know that many powerful clubs are following Luciano Vietto,” the striker’s agent was quoted as saying by Goal.
Any move from Liverpool and the 10-times European champions will see them face huge competition from Germany as two Bundesliga clubs are also on the trail in securing Vietto’s services.
“There is great competition to sign him. He can sign for Liverpool because we know he likes the setup there … there is also Real Madrid and, I think, two German teams. I think he could leave Villarreal at the end of the season,” he added.
Brendan Rodgers have Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Daniel Sturridge as his first choice strikers in the squad, along with Fabio Borini. The England international has struggled with injuries as he spent most part of the season on the sidelines.
The former Southampton striker has seen his first team appearances being limited, while Balotelli has been a massive flop for Liverpool. A move for Vietto in the summer makes perfect sense, provided the Northern Irishman manages to offload a player to make place for Villarreal star.
