Chelsea vs Manchester City analysis

As the January transfer window gets off and running, expect to hear a vast amount of rumours surrounding big name strikers who are on the move. I’ve decided to put together a list of five forwards who are almost guaranteed to be making a switch this winter.

Stefan Kießling: The Bayer Leverkusen striker has been knocked down in the pecking order since Javier Hernandez’s arrival and reports suggest that the German striker is ready to leave the Bundesliga club, Liverpool could be potential suitors as Jurgen Klopp has been a long-time admirer of the 31-year-old.

Loic Remy: Diego Costa has kept Remy out the Chelsea side since his arrival and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon leaving the striker unhappy. A return to Newcastle United may be on the cards for the Frenchman as Steve McClaren is keen to add some fire-power to his attack, Remy’s move could be a loan deal instead of a transfer but either way this is a good deal for everyone involved.

Saido Berahino: Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are all linked with the West Brom striker as Berahino is still rumoured to be on his way out the club. Berahino had a transfer request rejected in the summer along with a £22 million bid by Tottenham also turned down. So it’s likely that Berahino could be playing in different colours by the time we see him next.

Dwight Gayle: Gayle hasn’t made an appearance for Crystal Palace since October so a move is almost inevitable. There is currently a three-way race for the 25-year-old between Newcastle, Norwich and Derby with a fee in the region of £6 million being hinted at, according to talkSPORT.

Steven Naismith: After being left out of the match day squad to face Spurs on Sunday, a move looks more and more likely to happen with Norwich the only interested party. A second fee has been agreed after Everton rejected a deal in the summer but the Scotsman looks set to be off to Carrow Road as boss Alex Neil hopes to add quality to his side to insure Premier League survival.
