After acquiring the services of Ander Hererra, Manchester United are set to complete their second signing of the summer as it now appears that the Luke Shaw is set to have his medical ahead of the £34m move from Southampton.

Sky Sports journalist Graeme Bailey took to Twitter to report the potential developments.

With the England national team touching down to Manchester after a disastrous World Cup campaign in Brazil, the Red Devils are eager to complete Shaw’s medical as the club has agreed a deal worth an initial £27m that could rise to £34m with add ons.

The Southampton star had been linked with United over the past few weeks with Chelsea also interested but the player, as it now seems has decided to snub his boyhood club in favour of a move to Manchester.

Shaw had a terrific season under Mauricio Pochettino at the south coast club who finished eighth in the Premier League standings in the 2013-14 season.

With Alexander Buttner leaving United to join Dynamo Moscow and Patrice Evra not getting any younger with each passing day, Shaw will definitely muster a starting eleven spot for the Red Devils under Louis Van Gaal’s tenure at Old Trafford.
