Man Utd have been handed a significant boost in the race for Cruzeiro’s blockbuster midfielder, Everton Ribeiro; with the Brazilian admitting that he wants to play for the club.
The 24-year-old, who was recently crowned ‘Brazil Player of the Year’, told Brazilian news site ‘Globoesporte‘,
“Yes, I would prefer that (United). The structure they have in place is one of the best in the world. I have been there already and went to a lecture by Alex Ferguson when I was younger.”
According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes has taken a keen interest in the attacking midfielder, and has had his scouts watch the player on several occasions. His interest is matched by Liverpool, says the Mail; but with Riberio seems to have his heart set on a move to Manchester.
Indeed, the player’s agent Robson Ferreira claims he has already held talks with Utd officials in Manchester (via the Mail),
“Manchester United want him. David Moyes has been impressed. I’ve already been to England and talked personally with them.”
This all seems very promising for Utd, with both the player and his agent admitting links to the Red Devils. Moyes is considering making a £12m move in January, with his side in dire need of midfield reinforcement, as the Scot looks to guide Utd back into the top four.
What do you think? Would the Brazilian be a good signing? Let me known in the comments below…
