Liverpool are all set to make Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno their second signing of the summer, after Spanish newspaper Marca claims the deal will announced within next few hours. So, we will keep you updated when it happens, if it happens at all.
Moreno has had a great campaign with Sevilla but was left out of Spain’s World Cup squad. He was targeted by Chelsea and Real Madrid as well, with the Blues already having offered £15m for his services.
Liverpool are in need of a left-back in the summer and earmarked Moreno as their prime target. The Reds had initially offered €20m plus talented youngster Suso, and now they have upped their offer to €22m plus Suso (albeit on loan) and various incentives and add ons to secure his signature.
Marca says that the deal is almost as good as done and it will become official in the next few hours. Both the parties are sorting minor details before making the announcement public.
Having already confirmed the signing of Rickie Lambert, it will be Liverpool’s second major signing of the summer, should they materialise the signing of Moreno.
What do you think? Will he be a top signing for Liverpool?
