According to reports from the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website in Italy, Juventus are trying an agreement with PSG striker Edinson Cavani over a summer transfer. It is reported that the Bianconeri had a positive meeting with Cavani’s entourage in Paris on Wednesday as they are trying to agree over the player’s wages.
The Old Lady’s representatives also made progress both on the annual salary as well as the length of the contract. They are expected to contact PSG for the first next week to decide the course of action for the transfer. We had reported just a couple of days back that Juventus have a wage cap of €5m and Carlos Tevez is currently the highest paid player at the club with a salary of €4.5m per year.
The recent development will come as a major blow for Manchester United who have been linked with the Uruguayan over the past few months. The 28 year old striker had earlier been quoted saying in an interview that he could leave PSG, “In Paris I cannot play with continuity as a central striker, they moved me to the outside. All this can make me leave PSG? I want to play up front. I do not know what will happen next season.”
However PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already claimed that only a bid in the region of €50m could only entice them to part company with Cavani.
