After days and weeks of waiting, Juventus is now being sold off, in pieces, to the highest bidders. The sale is happening fast – with 4 big players (interestingly, 3 defenders and a defensive midfielder) going in two days.
Real Madrid signed Cannavaro and Emerson on Wednesday – Barcelona just signed Zambrotta and Thuram (for the same package price, 13 mil pounds in total) on Thursday. Anyone figure that a striker will be moving soon in Serie A?
Now that the four players most linked to with outside clubs have been transferred, we have a clearer idea of who’s got what opening left at their club. Barcelona look to be complete, Real Madrid have 3 more signings to make, the only available left-back on the market for Chelsea is now Ashley Cole, Liverpool and Newcastle are still short of strikers, Arsenal need a defender and a midfielder and Manchester United need to sign these three players.
Next player to move out of Juventus? Gigi Buffon. Whether he will go to Arsenal, to Barca or to Milan, I don’t know, but that guy is leaving for sure.
Patrick Vieira is another player tipped to leave very soon, but whether he will go to Inter Milan or Manchester United, we still have to see.
Milan and Fiorentina should be losing players as well. Inter have their eyes on Luca Toni, while Kaka is Madrid’s next target and should be at the Bernabeau before August starts.
Question is, when will the English Premiership take advantage of the Serie A sale?
