After weeks and weeks of speculation, Juan Cuadrado is now on the cusp of becoming a Chelsea player. According to the reliable Italian newspaper Gazzetta, Fiorentina have accepted an offer of €33.4 million, along with a 6-month loan deal for Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian will head to the Serie A side with the Blues still paying his salary.

Cuadrado has been on the radar of several top clubs around Europe since impressing at the World Cup in Brazil last year. He was courted by Manchester United all summer, but the Red Devils were unable to secure his signature. Now, after negotiations with his agents all in week, a move to London has been finalised.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly a big fan of his and will be looking to seal the deal in time for the game against Manchester City on Saturday. The Colombian has scored 6 goals in all competitions this season while also being defensively adept, and is considered very much to be a ‘Mourinho player’.

This may also be good news for Salah, who has found first-team football at Stamford Bridge very hard to come by amidst still competition. The youngster is expected to play more of a role at Fiorentina, whose manager Vincenzo Montella has called him an ‘interesting player’.

This also casts further doubt over the future of Andre Schurrle at Chelsea. The German, who has struggled to get ahead of Willian in the pecking order, now faces another competitor for the right-wing position. With a lot of interest incoming from the likes of Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund, he may well be on his way out.
