Manchester United have been linked with a move for Ralf Rangnick.
The German is currently the head of sports and development at Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow and Manchester Evening News are reporting that he is the Premier League club’s preferred option to take over if the Red Devils fail to lure Mauricio Pochettino away from Paris Saint-Germain.
Manchester United recently sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a disappointing start to the season and former midfielder Michael Carrick has been appointed as the interim manager.
There is no doubt that the Red Devils will need to bring in a more experienced candidate to replace the Norwegian and Rangnick would be a massive upgrade on Carrick.

The German has held administrative roles as well as managerial roles at various clubs across Europe and he has a wealth of experience under his belt.
Rangnick is not just a proven manager but he is also an exceptional scout with an outstanding eye for talent. He has unearthed top-class talents like Sadio Mane, Joshua Kimmich, Naby Keita, Dayot Upamecano and Timo Werner over the years.
The German certainly has the experience and quality to manage a club like Manchester United and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can convince him to take over until the end of the season.
Although Manchester United are one of the best clubs in the world and the opportunity to manage them can be hard to turn down, joining them on an interim basis might not make sense for the German.
Rangnick will probably be hoping for a more significant role in the long run and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.
