Arsenal will offload some of their first-team players this summer, with Mikel Arteta looking to frame the squad to his own taste.
For instance, Granit Xhaka is expected to leave the club with several Serie A clubs vying for his signature.
Another player who has been linked with an exit is Hector Bellerin.
According to football.london, Bellerin’s time in north London will be coming to an end this summer.
Bellerin, who is on £110k-per-week wages at the club, was the first choice right-back option for Arteta for much of last season, ahead of Cedric Soares and Calum Chambers.
The Spaniard is apparently determined to leave the club and has no shortage of admirers.
Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal are among the clubs willing to take him off Arsenal’s hands this summer.
Gianluca Di Marzio recently reported that Inter are weighing up a loan move for Bellerin this summer.
Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto claimed last month that Villarreal had already made an offer for Bellerin, although the details of the bid were unknown.
However, Arsenal appear to have made a U-turn regarding Bellerin’s future, with the club not actively looking to sell him this summer.
According to Catalan media outlet Sport (transfer live blog – 17:41), Arsenal have refused to even consider the possible departure of the player.
Arsenal have been linked with Norwich City’s Max Aarons, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Tariq Lamptey and RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams in recent months.
Despite this, with the Gunners needing to bolster other area areas of the pitch, keeping Bellerin for another season makes plenty of sense.
