Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, has been in sensational form this season.
The Spanish international has already scored 10 goals in 13 Premier League games, and has guided his side to the top of the table. According to reports, Inter Milan are looking to break the bank in order to sign the Premier League star. Inter have had a shocking start to their season, and are looking to bounce back with a big money signing.
Costa is a world-class striker, and would be a massive addition to any side. However, there is no way Chelsea would consider selling him in January. The report adds that Inter’s Chinese owners are ready to pay around £50 million for the Chelsea star, but the Blues are in the title race, and selling their best player could jeopardise their season.
Furthermore, Chelsea do not need the money, and therefore signing any of their players in January will be very tough for any opposing side. Also, it is important to remember that a player like Costa would want a step up if he was leaving Chelsea. Inter Milan are extremely mediocre right now, and signing for them would be a massive step down for him.
In other news, Antonio Conte‘s assistant, Steve Holland, has agreed to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
Gareth Southgate is expected to take over as the England manager permanently soon, and he wants Holland as his assistant. The Chelsea coach will join up with Southgate at the end of this season. The pair have worked together for the U21s, and have a close relationship.
Holland joined Chelsea in 2009 as Reserve Team Manager, and has been a key member of the backroom staff under Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo, Rafa Benitez, José Mourinho, and Guus Hiddink. AVB promoted him to the senior setup in 2011, and his departure will be a blow for the Blues.
