What a week of Premier League football it has been.

Manchester City’s 100% record came to an end at the hands of a brilliant Tottenham performance, while Chelsea returned to winning ways with victory over Hull City.

Arsenal broke Burnley hearts with a controversial late winner, while Stoke held Manchester United to a draw at Old Trafford. These are the 11 players who performed the best on matchday 7.

Lee Grant (Stoke City)

The game away at Old Trafford was just Grant’s second in the Premier League, and he won’t have many better. The on-loan Derby man made eight saves, the joint highest by any keeper in the league this season, including a brilliant stop to deny Jesse Lingard from close-range.

Kyle Walker (Tottenham)

In what has to be up there as one of the best team performances in the Premier League this season, Walker was outstanding for Tottenham. He came up against both Jesus Navas and Raheem Sterling during the game with Manchester City, and he came out on top against both of them.

Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham)

It looked like Toby Alderweireld could be in for a difficult afternoon when he lined up against Sergio Aguero, possibly the Premier League’s most deadly striker. Instead, the Argentinean barely got a sniff all afternoon and spent much of his time in the Belgian’s back pocket.

Michael Keane (Burnley)

It was another impressive performance from Michael Keane in an excellent Burnley defensive display. He continues to be solid and consistent at the back, and it was only an appalling refereeing decision that cost his side a point.

N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

The Frenchman was undoubtedly one of the stars of last season for Leicester City, and it looks like he has taken to Chelsea like a duck to water, and he was at his best against Hull City. He has a different role at Chelsea and made more successful passes than in any of his 44 Premier League games to date.

Joe Allen (Stoke City)

This season hasn’t exactly gone to plan for Stoke. They still haven’t got a win on the board, but a point at Old Trafford on Sunday will certainly give them some belief. Allen put in an excellent performance up against Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, both of whom could have been dismissed for incidents involving Allen. The Welshman certainly deserved to get the goal that got Stoke level.

Willian (Chelsea)

Easily Chelsea’s best player last season, and he was once again a key man for Chelsea against Hull City, scoring a brilliant goal to give the Blues the lead. He was dangerous all afternoon and should have been awarded a penalty later on in the match.

Dimitri Payet (West Ham)

What an outstanding goal. At his best, there are few better players in the Premier League than Payet. His goal against Middlesbrough was just different class, simply strolling past five players to equalise.

Dele Alli (Tottenham)

Tottenham have a pretty shocking record without Harry Kane in the Premier League, but Alli stepped up to change this against Manchester City. The Englishman ran the show for Spurs and he made a clever run in behind to score the second goal past Claudio Bravo.

Troy Deeney (Watford)

Gareth Southgate’s decision to leave Deeney out of the England side to face Malta and Slovenia is simply baffling. He was once again doing an excellent job for Watford on Saturday against Bournemouth and grabbed another goal in the 2-2 draw.

Diego Costa (Chelsea)

There can’t be many strikers around today who are more dangerous than Diego Costa when he is at his best. The Spaniard set up the first and then curled in an impressive second, his sixth goal of the season, making him the league’s top scorer.
