Chelsea midfielder Danilo Pantic is close to completing a loan transfer to Dutch side Excelsior.
The 19-year-old impressed during his loan spell at Vitesse and Excelsior are now hoping to conclude a deal for the highly talented attacking midfielder.
According to the reputed Dutch website Voetbal International, Excelsior have reserved the number ten role for the Chelsea youngster and want him to be their primary playmaker next season.
Chelsea have already held talks regarding the loan move and the Dutch side are expected to announce the move officially soon.
Pantic joined Chelsea in 2015 from Partizan Belgrade and was loaned out during the second half of last season to secure some valuable first team action. He will now head to Holland once again to continue his development.
The 19-year-old is yet to break into the Chelsea first team and the Serbian will be hoping to make this loan opportunity count and come back as a better player next season.
In other news, Premier League defender Papy Djilobodji has confirmed that a telephone conversation with David Moyes was key to him completing a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
The former Nantes defender joined Chelsea under Jose Mourinho for a fee of 3.5 million Euros, but the Senegalese never quite managed to impress the Portuguese manager. He was eventually loaned out to Werder Bremen.
The player has now completed a 9.4 million Euros move to Sunderland and is looking to kick-start his career under the former Everton and Manchester United manager.
Djilobodji revealed that he never got a fair chance under Jose Mourinho, but he maintained a positive attitude around the camp and is very pleased to have spoken with Moyes before making the switch to Sunderland.
He said: “I am really happy and I will give everything for this club. I hope to have playing time, but the coach (David Moyes) called me.”
“It was important for me and it encouraged me to come here. We did not talk about a starting spot, but he told me he wanted me in his team. That was motivating. It was something that I haven’t heard at Chelsea.”
He added: “I’m not the type of player to go to the coach to ask him to play me, I’ve never done that.”
“An assistant of Mourinho told me to talk to him but no, I did not. What I show in training, for me, that’s enough. After, if he wants to play me, is good. And if it does not play me, no worries, I stay on the bench quietly. I was not at all depressed and I was supported.”
