Sky Sports are reporting that a deal to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford is really close and the Sweden international should be signed up before the Euro 2016 kicks off on the 10th of June.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker is a priority target for Jose Mourinho and will sign a one year contract with the Premier League giants. The 34 year old striker has rejected big money offers from China to join the Premier League outfit.

Despite his age, Ibrahimovic is still a world class player and could prove to be a defining signing for Manchester United, just like Robin Van Persie. Ibrahimovic’s PSG contract is up this summer and he will join as a free agent. The Sweden international wants £220,000-a-week to join Manchester United according to Guardian.

The world class striker has already worked with Mourinho before and the duo have great mutual respect.

Ibrahimovic has scored 50 goals in 51 games for PSG last season and could be the perfect partner for Anthony Martial. Furthermore, his experience and ability would be invaluable as Manchester United aim to get back to the top of English football. Ibrahimovic has won trophies at every club he has joined and will bring a winning mentality to the club.

Furthermore, he could also give the likes of Rashford and Lingard some much needed time away from the spotlight. The young Manchester United forwards have done really well this season, but they are far from the polished article and will need time and coaching to fulfill their potential. Signing a proven goalscorer will take the pressure off them.
