Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.

The Slovakian defender has fallen out of favour with the new Reds manager Jurgen Klopp and will continue his career elsewhere.

Skrtel has an offer from the Turkish outfit Besiktas and is expected to join them. The player’s agent has confirmed that Skrtel’s move away from Liverpool is almost certain but it is done yet.

Csonto told TV Markiz in Slovakia: “Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin, but we haven’t reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else.”

“But I can say that it is 90% sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed.”

The 31 year old defender has been atrocious for Liverpool over the last few seasons and the likes of Lovren and Toure are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Jurgen Klopp will be determined to improve his defence after how his team crashed at times last season and selling Skrtel would definitely be a good start for Liverpool. Furthermore, Skrtel is on big wages and it would be wise to get him off the books.

The Reds have been linked with Bundesliga defenders Sule and Tah. They have already landed the Schalke centre back Joel Matip.

Meanwhile in other, Liverpool have submitted an offer for the highly talented Lorient left back Raphael Guerreiro.

The Lorient President has confirmed Liverpool’s bid.

‘For now four major foreign clubs, including Dortmund and Liverpool have made an offer,’ Hayes said.

Liverpool desperately need a left back this summer. Alberto Moreno has shown time and again that he is an asset going forward, but is a liability at the back. The Spaniard has cost Liverpool on numerous occasions including the Europa League final.

The 22 year old Portuguese left back has attracted a lot of interest for his performances in Ligue 1 since 2013 and it seems that Klopp is looking to sign him as an alternative to Moreno.
