Long-term Manchester United transfer target John Stones could be heading to Etihad after Manchester City offered 50 million Euros for his services.

Spanish outlet El Correo are reporting that Manchester City are desperate to sign Stones and Laporte this summer. The Premier League giants are ready to splash a combined total of 100 million Euros on the two defenders.

Stones was a priority target for Jose Mourinho at Chelsea last summer and the Blues had several bids rejected for the England defender. With Mourinho expected to take over at Old Trafford this summer, the Everton star was linked with a move to Manchester United.

Recent reports claimed that Mourinho has already given Manchester United his blessing to secure a summer move for John Stones, but now it seems that City might hijack it.

In other news, Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes will return to Old Trafford after his loan was cut short by the Belgian club Standard Liege.

Standard announced that they have decided to terminate the loan agreement for medical reasons and wished the former Barcelona star luck for his future.

Now AS are reporting that Valdes is wanted by the La Liga outfit Espanyol.

Manchester United are not keen on renewing the player’s contract and it seems that Valdes’ Old Trafford nightmare might come to an end permanently in the summer.

The Spaniard’s contract with Manchester United expires in the summer and Manchester United have the option to trigger an extension for another season, but the Premier League giants have decided against it.

Valdes fell out with manager Louis Van Gaal early on and was then banished from the first team by the Dutchman. Signed as a replacement for De Gea, the Spaniard never got a chance after De Gea’s Real Madrid move fell through and Manchester United opted to sign Sergio Romero.
