Real Madrid winger James Rodriguez could be heading to the Premier League this summer and it seems Manchester United are leading the chase for the world-class Colombian.

Rodriguez is frustrated with the lack of support at the Bernabeu and is angling for a move away from the Spanish capital. His comments about Real Madrid support will now fuel further speculations that he wants out.

Recently he said after an international game: “If things go well with Colombia it’s because of the game. When you have the support of all you see the results. I am happy.”

According to reports from the Italian media, Manchester United are favourites to land the Colombian, who is valued at around €60m-€70m.

Considering their financial resources, Manchester United would have no problem paying that kind of money for a player of Rodriguez’ talents.

Furthermore, the Colombian is represented by Jorge Mendes, who happens to be a close friend and agent of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager is expected to take over at Old Trafford at the end of this season and that could make the move for Rodriguez easier.

Mendes has worked on high profile transfer with Manchester United closely before and Mourinho’s presence at the helm could be decisive and a massive advantage for the Premier League club.

Rodriguez can play out wide as well as the number ten and would be a stunning addition to any side in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see if United can pull this off, but there is no doubt that they have the resources and pull to do it.
