Liverpool vs Manchester City: Twitter Reaction, Goals & Highlights

Adam Lallana

Liverpool avenged their League Cup final loss with a 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday night. The Reds displayed the enthusiasm and urgency that was largely missing from their game on Sunday. Goals from Adam Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino ensured the Reds got all three points and put Liverpool in the eighth place, one point behind Stoke, with a game in hand.

While Manchester City were already not in a commanding place in the title race, the loss to Liverpool put them 10 points behind league leaders Leicester, albeit with a game in hand. The side looked tired and understandably so. Pellegrini had three strikers on the pitch for him in the second half but it failed to make any difference.

Here are the best Twitter reactions from the game

Liverpool good on the night and hungry…..City a shambles….only surprise is that it wasn’t more than 3-0

What a goal by Lallana. He’s been our best player. No harm letting a few lads know they are fighting for their futures.

Best home performance of the season. Firmino, Lallana, Milner, Can, Kolo all outstanding. Credit where credit is due for Adam, Milner & Can. — * (@ImpulsiveHazard) March 2, 2016

Origi with another promising game. Such a huge talent.

— Steven Gerrard (@Gerrard8FanPage) March 2, 2016Three strikers on the pitch and we’ve yet to have a proper shot against a defence containing Kolo Toure. This isn’t good #MCFC — Andrew Brindle (@andrewb1970) March 2, 2016

Announcing Pep to City mid-season was a horrible decision. For City. — Rothschild (@Voskiee) March 2, 2016
