David De Gea injured for Midtjylland clash

Manchester United keeper David De Gea is set to miss the Europa League return leg against Midtjylland this week.

The Spanish international suffered a knee injury during his warm up before the first leg and has missed two games since then.

Although scans revealed that the injury is not serious, Van Gaal has confirmed that the Spaniard will miss the crucial tie against the Danish outfit this week.

“I was hoping for that but he shall not be involved,” the Dutchman told the club’s official website.

“That is already certain.”

De Gea has been ever-present for Manchester United this season and has kept them in the race for a top four finish singlehandedly at times.

Ever Banega negotiating a new deal with Sevilla

Manchester United were looking to complete the signing of Argentine midfielder Ever Banega on a free transfer this summer.

The Sevilla midfielder is out of contract in the summer and was linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, the Sevilla President has now confirmed that the player is negotiating a new deal with the club and is likely to stay.

He said: “Our negotiations continue.”

“We wait to close an extension but we’re talking about a top player who is really valued by all clubs.”

“I like that the player is working hard for us and is defending Sevilla’s shirt each day.”
