Manchester United are set to receive a major injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal.
The Premier League giants will be able to welcome their first choice goalkeeper David De Gea back into the starting lineup for the high octane clash.
De Gea suffered a knee injury during his warm-up before the Europa League match against Midtjylland and the Spaniard was thought to have damaged his ligaments.
However according to Daily Mail, scans have shown that the player’s injury is not as serious as it was first feared and he will be back in action soon.
He is expected to sit out Manchester United’s FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury and will return for the Arsenal game.
Manchester United will be delighted with the news, considering how important he has been for them. The Red Devils are fifth in the League table and are fighting for a top four finish.
Losing De Gea could have been a damaging blow for Van Gaal, who is already struggling with a lot of key injuries including that of Wayne Rooney.
A defeat in the Arsenal game could be a massive setback for Manchester United as far as the top four is concerned and coming up against the likes of Sanchez, Giroud and Ozil, having a keeper like De Gea could prove to be defining.
