According to Eindhovens Dagblad, Tottenham Hotspur custodian Heurelho Gomes is seemingly interested in moving back to his old club PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Gomes was signed by Spurs in the summer for 10 million euros but the Brazilian goalkeeper has failed to settle at White Hart Lane, leading Spurs fans to call for someone more capable to be installed between the sticks.
Even Gomes is said to be ill at ease in north London. Reports suggest that he wants to move back to the Netherlands and back to his old club PSV.
Heurelho Gomes has been shaky at times between the posts for Spurs so far this season and has made a number of mistakes. Spurs manager harry Redknapp has admitted that they are looking to sign some players in January and maybe there is a goalkeeper among his January recruits.
So is Gomes’ Spurs future coming to an end? Well, if he indeed does leave for PSV in January, then in all probabilities, it would be a loan move and not a permanent one.
But who would then replace Gomes at Spurs?
