Reigning Premier League and European champions Manchester United have now fattened their squad by two more members after signing- well, almost signing- two Serbian starlets.
Manchester United’s Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic would have some task in the next few months to see that his compatriot Zoran Tosic settles smoothly in England.
United have confirmed that they have signed the 21-year old Tosic from Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade. All the paperwork has been accomplished and the young hopeful shall officially become a Man United player on January 1,2009.
This is what Zoran Tosic had to say about his big leap to Manchester:
“I’m going to Manchester to do a medical exam, but I will return in three days. I hope everything will be okay, but I must confess that it’s hard to leave my club Partizan.
“When I was replaced in the game against Vojvodina, it was so strange and a hard feeling. I sat on the bench any said to myself this could be my last game for Partizan.
“But I hope that I will return one day. Of course, there is a big feeling of pride, I’m off to sign for the biggest club in the world, which is my favourite from my early years.
“My goal is to continue progress as footballer and I want to show Manchester United that my transfer wasn’t a bad thing.”
Man United have also claimed that they shall confirm the signing of another up-and-coming Serbian in the next few months. 17-year old Adem Ljajic shall confirm whether he shall sign for the English giants at the end of the season but in all likelihood he too shall take the giant leap.
Seems like Sir Alex Ferguson is now looking towards Eastern Europe to secure United’s long-term future. Hopefully the young lads shall be able to do well for Man United.
