Premier League club Manchester City are hardly out of the transfer news these days and today again is no different. This time, according to the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, the Eastlands club are preparing a £50 million record breaking bid for Liverpool hitman Fernando Torres.
Man City have been linked with a number of world class strikers in recent weeks, including Torres’ Spanish international teammate David Villa of Valencia, but most of them have been just newspaper stuff. And it appears that the man who runs the rumour mill is hatching yet another selling but baseless transfer report.
It’s been reported in The Daily Mirror that Manchester City are ready to break the previous world record transfer fee and splash out as much as £50 million to lure Torres from Anfield to the City of Manchester Stadium. What’s more, it’s being said that although the Man City sheikhs know that Torres will in every likelihood reject an offer to sign for City in January, they are confident that they can get the player in the summer.
As if…..! Come on, this has been going on and on and on and on and on. It is really becoming too much now!
Manchester City, given their money, seem to be linked to each and every footballer on the planet. Well, if you are to trust all the transfer reports, then you might well see Man City signing all the players in Europe by the time we start next season.
Now that would be something!
