West Ham United announced yesterday that French midfielder Morgan Amalfitano has left the club on mutual consent after falling out with manager Slaven Bilic.
Having moved to the Hammers in the January of 2014, Amalfitano appeared 24 times for the Hammers before walking out of the club yesterday.
After a falling out with Bilic over disciplinary issues, the Frenchman was overlooked in selection under the Croatian manager leading to him walking out of the club yesterday.
A statement released by West Ham on their website read, “On Tuesday, Morgan Amalfitano left the club by mutual consent. The Hammers would like to thank Morgan for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him well in his future career.”
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic told reporters upon the departure of Amalfitano that it is his first and foremost job to protect the whole team. Including himself, staff and players.
The manager went on to say if he saw anything threatening harm to the atmosphere or breaking the set club rules then it has to be stopped.
With Amalfitano gone from the West Ham squad, Bilic will be hoping his side can continue their positive results as they prepare for a difficult away match to Crystal Palace at the conclusion on the international break.
A victory for Bilic’s side will see them leapfrog Palace into fourth spot as they continue an impressive start to their Premier League season.
