Manchester United have received a massive boost as star defender Luke Shaw has confirmed he is back at the training ground on Monday.
The left-back made a switch to Old Trafford from Southampton last summer and did not enjoy a great run in the first season as injuries, coupled with inconsistent form hindered his progress.
Louis van Gaal gave Shaw to follow a fitness regime in the summer and since returning to pre-season, the defender has been in fine form. He was one of the star players as Red Devils completed one month into the 2015-16 season.
In the first Champions League fixture against PSV Eindhoven, a tackle from Hector Moreno left the former Saints man suffer a double fracture. He was stretchered off the field and he underwent a surgery in Netherlands, before returning to Manchester to start his recovery.
Shaw revealed on Monday that he has returned to the training ground and this news will come as a matter of joy for United fans.
“First day back at the training ground today, nice to be back,” Shaw tweeted.

In Shaw’s absence, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich fielded Marcos Rojo in the left-back position. But after two appearances, the Argentine international picked up a hamstring injury, which has forced him to spend time on the sidelines.
Summer signing Matteo Darmian has also featured as a left-back, while England international Ashley Young has also featured there. Shaw’s continuous absence is hurting United as Van Gaal is forced to use a make shift options with Rojo’s injury. Shaw’s return to the starting lineup should only ease things for United and their manager.
