The French Football Federation has released a statement that clearly suggest that Anthony Martial is on the verge of signing for Manchester United.
The statement reads as follows:
“Anthony Martial presented himself on Monday at 11:00 at the gathering of the French national team at Clairefontaine. He requested the permission of Didier Deschamps to travel to England to sign a contract with Manchester United. Given the exceptional circumstances, the coach has agreed to the request of the player. Anthony Martial left Clairefontaine on Monday at 12:00. He will return on Tuesday morning.”
French newspaper Le Parisien has reported this morning that the player has agreed personal terms with Manchester United, however, we do not the exact figure of the transfer fee paid by United.
Reports emerged yesterday that Monaco had rejected two bids from Manchester United from Martial, the latest being €55m.
According to French media RMC, Manchester United will pay €80m overall for Martial, the break down being €60m fee upfront and €20m in bonuses.

The 19-year-old seems to be travelling to England now to complete the transfer. He is a highly rated young talent but the question remains on United’s transfer strategy. Are the club paying over the odds to sign an unproven talent?
