Cristiano Ronaldo, along with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, is undoubtedly one of the greatest ever player to have graced the beautiful game.
The fact that he has always tested himself at higher levels, moving from his comfort zone again and again to achieve excellence, only shows his hunger and desire to succeed in his profession.
Ronaldo in a private meeting with one of his sponsors admitted that he didn’t imagine to be a professional footballer someday and represent big clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid.
“I remember always playing in the street. One day my father told me ‘Why do not you come to the club with me where I’m working? And I said,” Sure, why not, ” said Ronaldo. “Then I started to play with same routine. I was going to train every day and I like being part of a team.”
“At first I felt something different from other children, but I never thought that one day would be a professional, who played for Manchester United, or Real Madrid and Sporting Lisbon,” he added.
Ronaldo was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson at a very young age to replace club legend David Beckham. He won three league titles with United and one Champions League during his six years stay at the club. He then moved to Real Madrid for then world record transfer fee in 2009 and took his game to another level, and won three Ballon d’Ors in between. Check the video below:
