Italian club Roma are determined to complete a massive overhaul at the club this summer. After already completing a loan deal for Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, they are now close to securing the services of Mohamed Salah, who has arrived in Italy to sign from Chelsea.
Now, the Giallorossi are looking to looking to strengthen their defence, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Luca Digne on their wish-list. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the club have begun negotiations for a prospective loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The French youngster is also on Liverpool’s radar. It was reported only two days ago that the Reds are in talks with the player’s agent to make him their eighth signing of the summer.
Roma finished second in Serie A last season, but were a massive 17 points adrift of champions Juventus. They are looking to have a real go at beating the Old Lady next season, as their busy summer activities clearly reveal.
Digne has already worked with the current Roma manager Rudi Garcia before, during his formative years at Lille. The 22 year-old full-back could be enticed by the prospect of working under his compatriot and mentor again.
Liverpool have made some fantastic signings up front, bringing in the likes of Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and James Milner, spending close to £70 million in the process. Their backline though, still has room for improvement, and is an address Brendan Rodgers will surely look to address in the remaining month of the transfer window.
Digne already has 8 caps for his national side, featuring in the starting line-up during France’s World Cup campaign in Brazil last year.
