Liverpool maintained their unbeaten Premier League run to 10 games, after earning a convincing 2-0 victory over Southampton at the St Mary’s on Sunday.
As a result of this massive victory, Liverpool have moved 6th in the Premier League table and closed the gap with Manchester United to two points.
Southampton had better possession and more control on the pitch, but individual brilliance from Liverpool made all the difference.
Philippe Coutinho, who made his 20th consecutive start for the Reds and may need a rest, scored probably the goal of the season, with a screamer from 25-30 yards out.
Liverpool’s ever improving defence that hasn’t conceded any single away goal since December, hold on to that lead before Raheem Sterling put the game beyond doubt.
Here are some of the best twitter reactions on that wonderful goal:
Oh. My. God. WHAT A GOAL! #Coutinho

Fabulous goal from Coutinho. Brilliant finish. 25 yards out. Power, placement. Forster no chance. 1-0 to #lfc.

What makes this goal even more amazing is that Coutinho wasn’t even running, yet he put so much power on his shot from such long distance. — Seleção Brasileira (@BrazilStats) February 22, 2015
Hahaha, that Coutinho goal is absolutely scandalous.

Coutinho’s goal still needs explaining. His body stance when he hit the ball and how he kicked it shouldn’t have made him score. Unreal. — Jaime (@_PierceTheJaime) February 23, 2015
Is this the best goal of the season so far?
