Frank Lampard has called on his Manchester City teammates to aid Sergio Aguero, after the Argentine striker rescued his teammates with a hat-trick in the 3-2 UEFA Champions League win over Bayern Munich.
City have struggled under Manuel Pellegrini both domestically and in Europe, with Aguero the one bright spark in an otherwise dismal start to the campaign.
The Argentine striker has scored 17 goals already this season in both the Premier League and Champions League, having started 14 games.
His three goals against Bayern rescued City from a group stage exit and Lampard has called on other players within the squad to start contributing to the campaign.
“I think people need to chip in at all times, but great strikers love the burden,” Lampard said.
“They want the burden of scoring goals and I am sure he is as happy after the Bayern game as he will ever be that he is scoring goals and winning games.”
