We had reported in the weekend that Italian giants Inter Milan could move for out of favour Liverpool striker Fabio Borini in the upcoming January transfer window. The Nerazzurri looked completely lacklustre and were eaten comprehensively by Parma in the weekend which further exposed their lack of attacking prowess. Both Mauro Icardi and Rodrigo Palcio looked completely out of sorts and it now appears that manager Walter Mazzarri will move for a striker in the upcoming transfer window.
Fabio Borini looks to be the choice for the San Siro outfit. The Italian’s career at Anfield has never picked up since he signed for the Reds in 2012. Moreover, the 23 year old looks to have fallen down the pecking order under manager Brendan Rodgers who surprisingly brought in Rickie Lambert from the bench on Saturday as Liverpool looked in search of goal against Newcastle. This would come as a major surprise as Borini had given a good account of himself in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Swansea in midweek in the Capital One Cup.
Borini had earlier rejected a move to join Sunderland in the summer, where he had impressed last season on loan. However it now appears that a move to his native country would be the right decision for Borini personally. It would end his misadventure in England and he would get game enough game time for Inter if he switches loyalties in January. A report from the trusted and the reliable media outlet TMW has claimed that Borini is almost sure to leave Anfield in the winter transfer window.
