Manchester United have confirmed their winger Wilfried Zaha has re-joined his former club Crystal Palace on a season-long loan on Thursday.
A statement on United’s official website read, “A deal has been agreed for Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha to rejoin Crystal Palace on loan.”
“This latest loan move will enable Zaha to obtain regular first-team football in the top flight after he was an unused substitute for United’s Capital One Cup exit at the hands of MK Dons in midweek.”
“The deal was agreed with Palace after Neil Warnock returned to the club as manager and reunites the pair in South London,” it added.
Meanwhile, Zaha has admitted that he is “buzzing” to rejoin the Eagles and is hopeful to feature regularly for Neil Warnock’s side.
“I’m just buzzing to be back, to be in and around the lads again. There have been rumours for a while, but it was only yesterday that it got sorted out and I was happy it got sorted out ASAP because I just need to get out and play,” Zaha told Palace’s official website.
“The best place to come back to is Palace where I am loved.”
“Speaking to my family and my agent, they knew I would be comfortable coming back here because I’ve got the support of the fans and the club. When I come back here I know I can just get straight back into it,” he concluded.
Zaha was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing at United. However, the winger failed to feature regularly after returning to Old Trafford last summer. He saw his first team appearances being limited under former Red Devils manager David Moyes.
The former Palace star spent the second half of the last season on-loan at Cardiff City. His loan spell did not go in his favour as he failed to impress for the Welsh club.
