Long-term Manchester United transfer target and Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder has admitted that it would hard to turn down an offer from the Red Devils.
The Dutch international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past few years. United appointed Louis van Gaal as their manager next season after sacking David Moyes 10 months into his six year contract.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager is with the Holland national team and will return to Old Trafford following his side’s World Cup campaign. Sneijder is also with the Holland squad in Brazil says if Van Gaal asks him to join him at United, he will not reject a chance.
“He trains his players very hard and always expects the highest standards. I am happy at Galatasaray. I have established myself at the club and have settled in,” Sneijder said, as reported in the Manchester Evening News.
“However, if Van Gaal were make me an offer I would have to at least consider it. Nobody from the Netherlands can simply reject Van Gaal.”
“In the Netherlands Van Gaal is something like the head teacher of a school. Not everyone is lucky enough to get into his good books,” the former Inter Milan star added.
United need to bring in reinforcements in their midfield, which will be Van Gaal’s key area, along with the defence to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window. It is unlikely whether the Red Devils will make a move for Sneijder, who just turned 30 this month.
