Fabio Capello has named John Terry as England captain – and this appointment is expected to last at least till the end of the World Cup qualifiers, and most likely through to the end of John Terry’s career/Capello’s reign as manager).
I’m not happy – of course not – but I can take it on the chin. John Terry is a very good defender and a very good leader; hopefully he can lead England to South Africa 2010 (qualification first, we can worry about winning titles later).
There will be lots of conspiracy theories about this (read some of them here) but the most important thing now is to win the friendly against the Czech Republic and for the players to get behind Terry and get the team into a winning habit.
