Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu in recent weeks.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Londoners are still working to sign the 22-year-old, and their opening bid of around €18 million remains on the table.
However, the Italian club are holding out for a fee of around €20-25m, and negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs.
Romano further claims that the player wants to move to Tottenham this summer.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) have come up with an update regarding Tomiyasu’s situation.
They claim that Spurs could raise their offer to €20m after their initial bid was rejected.
Manchester United and West Ham United have also been linked with the player, but Tottenham are the front-runners.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to improve the defensive unit this summer, and Tomiyasu could prove to be a quality long-term addition.
He can operate as a full-back and a centre-back, and his versatility could prove useful during injuries and rotation.
Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld have all been linked with a move away from the London club.
New manager Nuno Espirito Santo may have to bring in more than one new addition for his defence this summer.
