West Brom will welcome bottom placed team in the Premier League Crystal Palace at the Hawthorns in the Premier League clash on Saturday.
Palace did everything right in their last match apart from losing to Arsenal and at this juncture positives feelings are hard to come by for them. The manager (Ian Holloway) who took them to the Premiership last season lasted only eight games and although 29 games remain to be played but it is now day light clear that a miraculous effort is needed from somewhere to take the club out of this mire.
Back to the walls, with no hopes around, a fight back is needed. Possibly this is a good time to play away from home against West Brom who suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool last weekend.
Last season, Steve Clarke’s side punched above their weights but with expectations higher than usual, the Baggies are finding it difficult to replicate their last season’s form. Still, they have earned a respectable away win at Old Trafford and draws against Everton and Arsenal as well in the league.
Team News
West Brom could miss midfield duo Morgan Amalfitano and Scott Sinclair for this tie as both of them are doubtful for the match. Sinclair, the former Swansea star has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury while Amalfitano was substituted with a knee injury.
Key Stats
- West Brom have suffered just one defeat in their last six games, winning two and drawing three.
- Three of the last four league meetings between West Brom and Crystal Palace have ended as 1-1 draws.
- Palace have lost their last six Premier League games, their worst top-flight run since March 1998 (eight games)
Prediction: 2-1. At home, the Baggies will have enough quality to seal the tie. They are 4/7 with Ladbrokes to win the match against Palace.
